zoomer
I think I'm not the only one, at least another german user (localized VW !?) Some DWF I got not in, were tested by the customer in VW 2015 before, under Windows. There are many parts missing, also it seems that import settings changes will be shown but ignored when set back. I had smaller 2015 DWG import issues with 10.7.5 too, so not sure if it is some 2015 issue or Yosemity only. Also Open GL problems where simple Geometry behaves like a super large file, witch beach ball delays when zooming.. As with the repeating messages asking for allowing incoming connections and asks for admin password, I think there is somewhere a big problem with file permissions in Yosemity. Perhaps these things and a bigger warning that Yosemity is not so completly VW 2015 readdy, should be added here : http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1279/Mac+OS+X+10.10+Yosemite+compatibility+with+Vectorworks Doesn't help much if you just purchased a new Mac with Yosemity like I did. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 27, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 27, 2015 Check with the German support team directly for that, their version is different than the ones I have here: Contact: Carlos Lüthy Schwarzwaldstraße 67, 79539 Lörrach, Deutschland Tel:+49 (0) 7621 40 18 0 | Fax:+49 (0) 7621 40 18 18 Email: info@computerworks.de If they need to pass it to us and it exists in all versions, then I'll keep an eye on it here. They will likely need to see the file you are importing. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I'm international I think the other guy from the german forum may have a localized version. I did the imports on the old machine (10.7.5) in 2014 without problems. As far is I understood the other Yosemite guy, VW 2014 worked for him under Yosemity with DWG imports. I think I will install 2014 too as a workaround under the new Mac Pro. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 27, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 27, 2015 OH Sorry, I thought you meant YOU had a localized german version, apologies. Yes, send that DWG/DWF to me at tech@vectorworks.net and I'll test it here. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
No problem Jim. It is again all NDA data ... The 10.7.5 DWF import worked well in 2014 AND 2015. Seems it is just a Yosemite thing. There is not much time to test 2014 under Yosemite at the moment. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 27, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 27, 2015 Sorry, I'd have to see an example and test to confirm/file a bug. If you ever get a file that you can share that has that issue, send it my way and I'll have a closer look. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Yes I will. I asked some time ago about to deal with the files and support, but still no answer/confirmation. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 27, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 27, 2015 Normally users who have files that are under NDA or confidentiality agreements are able to send us the files, as we do NOT store them for anything other than Tech Support's use during resolution of an issue. After that our copies are deleted directly. If the issue has to be passed to engineering, it remains in our tracking system until the issue is resolved, then deleted. I will ensure any files you send to use are destroyed after the issue is resolved. But I completely understand if you have to wait for confirmation from the owners. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Seems that VW 2014 works well under Yosemite ... Back to work, deadlines approaching ... Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Another Problem were a lot of crashes when trying to assign materials to classes. The Class dialogue crashed immediately when I tried to assign a material that I had dragged from an other file out of the resource browser on an object - to have it selectable in the current file. When I imported the material before instead, it was a little bit more stable. So it crashed only each third attempt to set that material to a class. Also I had a lot of crashes when rendering a camera view in a RW style, where VW rendered from time to time an other render style as I had selected and VW shows in the drop down. Also I had the feeling that changes in a render style were shown but not always executed, especially when trying to undo a setting change. Quote Link to comment

Could be that the DWG Geometry came in after all, but was not shown in view window ... That seems to be the reason why it looked so simple but was super slow in OpenGL. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted February 2, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 2, 2015 It often will not fit to objects after a DWG import, but yes that would still dramatically slow OpenGL down, even if the geometry is not currently onscreen. Quote Link to comment
