Kizza
can the roof framer tool create the birdsmouth junction at the top plate? Seems to indicate it can when you look at the pic but the controls are missing..... Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
In order to create a birdsmouth, the roof needs to be created with some amount of Bearing Inset (which is their way of saying the same thing). You will probably need to play around with it a bit, but it does function... I suggest messing around in a new clean file until you get the hang of it, then once you get, you got it... Kizza
Thanks Peter, I was wondering whether it was possible to create the birdsmouth using the plate option within the framing tool. If I create the roof by selecting the exterior walls and create the roof frame with the framing tool (and retain original objects) then I will get the birdsmouth. If I create a roof using a polygon and then run the framing tool, I don't. Is does get me 90% there but there needs to be a roof top offset within the framing tool in order to bring the rafters down (to allow for battens and roofing. Then there will be an intelligent relationship between the roof object thickness and the framing tool. Edited December 30, 2014 by Kizza Quote Link to comment
