consistent roof edge thickness

It would be nice to be able to maintain a consistent roof facia/edge thickness where a portion of a roof plane extends beyond the rest of the roof. Currently, just actual edge displays the true vertical measurement desired on double mitered roof edges. Any edges further up the roof plane displays the cross section of the roof thickness.

Are you're referring to having an overhang where the vertical thickness = the fascia height and then the rest of the roof has a different thickness?

If so you can model this by creating 2 roofs.

Roof 1 has the overhang thickness all the way, ridge to overhang

Roof 2 thickness is the difference and it sits below roof 1 and has a zero overhang.

Play with the roof line you see in plan view, the roof edges are drawn differently if they are below or above that line.

marshigh, Looking at your attachment I'm not seeing anything wrong. Try this. draw the rafter profile (side/section view). Isn't that exactly what it would look like?

Now, if you want something like BCD suggested, then that's a different (and very common) thing. There are a couple ways to do it...
