I can not make a new class invisible ?

I have created a new new class in a new layer and the plant symbol appears fine but I can't turn this class to invisible, what am I doing wrong please ?

You should be setting a class to invisible thru the classes dialog box. Select the class and click on the white diamond in the dialog box.

Make sure this class is not your current active class before doing so.

Katie, I am turning off the diamond as suggested, but it is not becoming invisable.

Can you explain " current active class please "

as the class I am trying to turn off is the class ie plant symbols that I am currently placing on the drawing. ?
