Change the horizon of an HDRI Background Image?

Recommended Posts

I'm working through Daniel Janenson's Remarkable Renderworks book, and I'm stuck. It appears there's a horizon in the Physical Sky Mostly Sunny HDRI background. I don't see that in other HDRI background images (I didn't look at all). Is there a way to adjust the level of the horizon? In Daniel's example file he blocks out the lower part of the background with an extrusion to simulate ground, and it appears that the Physical Sky Mostly Sunny he used which was from VW 2012 may be different than the current VW2014 version, and may not have a horizon.

I don't believe it can be relocated unless you edit the HDRI image directly, which for the physical sky isn't really doable.

Most of the time I change the camera angle and cropping to cover the horizon line, but I will check and see if there is an intended way to edit this.
