When changing the sash operation of a window from a worksheet, would it not make more sense that the drop down selection be available from the cell rather than from the top formula bar only?

It is possible.

If you right click on the cell and choose 'Pick Value From List' there will be a list of all possible values.

Wasn't quite what I had in mind - more of a direct drop down list in the cell itself - much like how Excel would behave...

I don't think it does what I described on version 2012.

It would also be great if you could copy and paste values from one pull down cell to another.

Makes sense, increases the discoverability of the feature (two-way worksheet modification, that is) as well as removing a click each time a picked value cell is to be modified. Removing a single click may not seem like a big deal, but this one happens frequently and it would add up fast. Submitting request now.
