J. Wallace
Hello everyone I'm on a little 3d project which has a sloped driveway (8%) and a vehicle I want to place on it. When I go to rotate this vehicle, so it reflects the driveway slope it will not work... Any help would be appreciated, thanks Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 23, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 23, 2014 It wont let you rotate the symbol itself since it is a hybrid symbol that contains a 2D component, which cannot be rotated as a whole in 3D. Edit the 2D/3D symbol, then choose to edit the 3D component, enter a side view then select all of the 3D components and use the rotate tool to align the van with the driveway. That will then make all instances of that van tilt that way in 3D, if you don't want that to happen, make a duplicate of the symbol within the resource browser and modify the duplicate. J. Wallace
Thanks Jim that worked. Is the same to be done with parking space lines. See image. They are elevated on one side of a 5% sloped parking area. Update: the parking space lines don't appear to be editable... Edited April 23, 2014 by J. Wallace Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 23, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 23, 2014 I am able to rotate a Parking Space object via the rotate tool, but I have to first set their "Plane" in the object info palette to Layer, by default they appeared in Screen which didn't allow rotation.
