Duplicating a Workspace?

Recommended Posts

What's the trick to make an exact copy of a workspace? On my MacBook Pro I open the workspace editor, say make a copy of the current workspace, title it differently, close the dialog box, select the newly created workspace for the tools menu, and it is different than the one it was duplicated from. I just tested on my iMac and it works correctly there. Go figure!

That should work.

An alternate method is to find the workspace file and copy it.

Since I'm a Windows guy you'll have to find the file yourself. I recommend making backup copies of workspaces that have some serious effort in them. Too many times I've had mine go x#%^.

It looks like its OS specific, cant replicate on Windows 8.1. For now the palettes will have to be rearranged manually afterwards, then use Window > Palette > Save Palette Positions to ensure they are saved to the new workspace before proceeding with work or closing Vectorworks.
