bjoerka
Something strange happened to a file while trying to save. Vectorworks reports an error "Failure on attemp to save this file" and after clicking OK the second message was: "An error occured while saving this file. This file is now corrupt on disk. Try saving this file to a different location. If you close this file before you succesfully save it, it will be comletely lost." Usually we work with all files on our server. Saving it there in different locations didn?t work. Saving to the local harddrive neither. Exporting to an older vw version also didn?t work. Looked then into the backup folder and there are versions with the full datasize as the file was originally. The files vw tried to save are only a third of the original filesize. Symptom was not replicable. The last thing that our architect was working on was adding text in annotations. After closing the corrupted file vw crashed. Any idea? I archived all files if it might be neccessary. The error report too. Edited December 4, 2013 by bjoerka Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted December 4, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 4, 2013 If you Save As the file to the desktop with a completely different name, and get the error that it failed, does it create a VWX on the desktop anyway? Does it appear to be the right size? Quote Link to comment
bjoerka
It creates a file with a different name, but the size is a third of the original size. When i try to open it vw says: "This file is damaged. It will open with as much data as possible". Quote Link to comment
bjoerka
And at least... this file was created with vw2011 and we are working with it in vw2014 for a week now. Quote Link to comment
