George K
Having some visibility issues with the custom stair tool. So I have inserted a Custom Stair in a model built with storeys. Have set the layer elevations based on storey levels in the model (have also created a new file with just two storeys) Have pressed all the buttons that give me the visibility that I like in plan, i.e dotted line above/dotted line below, handrail etc etc. looks fine in plan but does not appear in any other view, iso, elevation, 'live' (a question for another post) Section. Frustrated as have spent most of day figuring out the stair tool only for my stair to not appear in any other view. Any help will be greatly appreciated. PS all layers and classes are on, think those setting are sorted. VW14 Mac. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted November 27, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 27, 2013 Under View, do you have Unified View turned on? With Unified View on, under Unified View Options, uncheck everything but the first checkbox, then change views a few times and tell me if you see everything. Quote Link to comment
George K
Yes, thanks its now visible are those the visibility settings to have? ...also am I right in thinking that if I have Lv0 and Lv1 (3200 fl-fl) there is no way of putting the stair on any layer I want and it will automatically set it to Lv0? Jim Smith
I only use the stair PIO as a guide, I keep it in a hidden class (A-Hidden-VertTrans) as the PIO does not produce anything close to an acceptable result in Plan Elevation or Section. I use a 2D object in the Annotation Layer to represent a stair. Frankly the stair PIO does not produce a result that a client would accept from a professional that is expected to DRAW STUFF FOR A LIVING. Quote Link to comment
