Haydenovative
Hey Team, I have created many new symbols for the entertainment production company I work for. I've saved all of my symbols into one file and the whole team references that file to drag in lights, audio and staging symbols for clients drawings. I have set up the file so that all lighting symbols are in the lighting class and audio in the audio class etc. with the aim of having these classes be dragged in with the symbol into a new drawing. This way a brand new drawing with no classes will start to build classes for these items as soon as they are dropped in. Can anyone tell me if I'm attacking this the right way because currently when any symbol is brought in from the resource browser it goes onto the none class or whatever class your on in the new drawing. Thanks guys!! Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
You need to edit the symbol options to assign the class you want. When you create the symbol, this is and option at the bottom of the dialog box. Quote Link to comment
Haydenovative
Thanks Jonathan, I now edit my symbol options and set it and its amazing. Is there anyway to assign each symbol to create a new symbol folder within the new drawing just by clicking and placing the symbol in the new drawing? Quote Link to comment
