Right now there is a simple, one way bridge between Vectorworks and Cinema 4D. I would like to see more development go into this making them more integrated with automatic two way exchange. Look how Maxon and Adobe have partnered to create something seamless - http://landingpage.maxon.net/?lang=en
Maxon is very motivated and commercially driven. They have a clear understanding of what their users want and need. They have been pushing forward faster and further with each release. It would be great for Vectorworks to take a page from their book and understand the notion of a streamlined, powerful design "pipeline" which serves not just architecture but all of its users.
