Conversion for DWG to Vectorworks file

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the forum!

Depends on the version of the dwg file and your vectorworks version, but the usual way is to open a new vectorworks file and in the menu, select File>Import>Import DXF/DWG or one of the similar choices for single or multiple imports. A dialog opens asking you for decisions.

Newer Vectorworks versions can open newer versions of dwg files. You may have to ask the author of the dwg file to save it back to a version supported by your copy of Vectorworks.

To see which versions of dwg can be imported to your Vectorworks, go to File>Export>Export DWG (or any of the similar choices). A dialog appears. Open the Version pulldown to see a list of supported versions of dwg files. Your Vectorworks can import any of those versions.

Post back if things are not working.

Please make a profile in the My Stuff tab of this forum with signature to include your vectorworks version and a bit about your hardware.
