skyelight
I'm experiencing this problem whenever I insert a new lighting instrument. It doesn't seem to matter what type of light it is, or where I got the original symbol from. When I insert it, in the Obj Info it tell me it is on the 3rd Mez Rail and has a color of R80, without me telling the light anything. I've gone into the 2d symbol editing, and can't find the source of this data there. I've tried looking into the light info records, and can't find anything there though I'm not a Light Info Record Whiz. Any clues as to what is telling all my lights to be on the Mez Rail with R80? michaelk
It would be really helpful to know which version you are using. My guess is that you have Spotlight 2009(?) There was a bug in that version that did exactly what you are describing if you used the "Create Similar Object Command" on a spotlight instrument. My memory is that there was a script that fixed it until the next SP fixed it for real. If you really do have 2009, updating should fix it. Might have to run the script on the current file. hth mk Edited October 30, 2012 by michaelk Quote Link to comment
skyelight
I'm running Spotlight 2012. I've tried importing symbols from clean show files (in which this did not occur), and when I insert them as a brand new symbol, this error occurs. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Yep, that's the bug. It's not the symbol, it's the Inst Insertion tool. Josh figured out how to fix it: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=153043 mk Quote Link to comment
