urunime
VW 2009. I've downloaded a couple .dwg files from a manufacturer's site (new speakers) and imported them as 3D symbols. Of course they appear as line drawings so I then "composed" them to create surfaces. The symbols look great and even have all the internal details and branding in them which is cool and all. The problem is that they consist of 20,000+ polygons. It's a huge symbol particularly as a speaker that I use in multiples. Is there any way, other then simply the destructive deleting of things, to combine polygons together to reduce the file size for the symbol? Thanks, Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted October 24, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 24, 2012 The best you can do is delete what's not needed and use compose, combine and add to join elements together. It's often easier to trace over the geometry and create a new shape. Quote Link to comment
