Another Line weigh issue

When I make a line with a weight of 40 mils VW seems to use that line weight on other objects and lines automatically. It seems to set the first line weight I use as the default. Is there any way to have it reset to a thin line weight (like 1 mil) after I make thick lines?

Here is how defaults work on the Attribute pallet (and text menu).

If you have no object selected and change a value, that new value becomes the document default. Any new object you draw should pick that characteristic up.

If you just want to do one object, you either heave to change the default and change it back, or you can draw the object at any size, select it, and then change just that one object in the attribute pallet.

Also to remember, you can do almost the same thing with class definitions and the "Use at creation" class parameter.
