Disappearing plant graphics

I've just opened up a file I worked on a few weeks ago and all the plant symbols have disappeared, with only crosses marking the centre of the plants remaining. I've got all the classes visible. Even when I try to add a new plant, only a cross comes up.

Any ideas?

Try making sure your view is Top/Plan. It sounds like you may have changed your view to Top, in which case you are looking at the top of the image prop symbol that represents the 3D element.

Thank you - that worked! Don't know how I changed the view to Top, but all sorted now.

I bought your book a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully I'll be a bit more au fait and stop making basic errors!
