J Lucas
Does anyone know how to merge two or more similar data sets from separate worksheets into one worksheet and have the merged data be sortable? I would like to combine a Windoor schedule with a VW schedule. (I setup the combined Windoor/VW schedule that comes with Windoor only to find that it is not interactive.) Quote Link to comment
J Lucas
Does anyone know if this is possible? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I don't have Windoor, so it's hard to say for sure. But I suspect it may be possible with if/then/else statements in the database headers. .....maybe. hth mk Quote Link to comment
michaelk
...probably. Again, I've never used Windoor, but I think it should work. The attached file combines and sorts the data from two different record formats. It uses an If,Then,Else statement in the database header. Create a database that includes objects with both record formats. In the database header check something to determine which object each is. This example uses a field, but it could be Object Type or probably many other things. Then sort by that column. hth mk Edited May 3, 2012 by michaelk Quote Link to comment
J Lucas
Thanks for the clues. I will see if I can get that to work. The Windoor records are similar to VW Windows and Doors. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I'd be interested to know if you put a windoor object and a VW door object in a wall and use =ObjectType in a database header, do you get unique and constant object type numbers. If so, that would be a convenient conditional to use. mk Quote Link to comment
