Cadplan Architecture
I'm a bit stuck, just starting to experiment with modelling small buildings in 3D but straight away I got stuck trying to make a half glazed external door. In VWA 2009 the tools menu has a door but in Settings I don't see an option to part glaze the leaf. Also I want to add a 1200mmw x 1050mm h attached side window. Any help would be great. Jonathan Pickup
If you make the bottom rail 800mm, will that give you a half glazed door? To make the sidelight a different height, you will have to make a window, an place it next to the door. Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
Thanks Jonathan but there doesn't seem to be an option for rails in the Settings pallete. with windows you can select a custom style then modify all the various items but there isn't the same option for a custom door style. Jonathan Pickup
If you look on the object info palette, where you set the leaf, you should find the rails. When you want to the window next to the door, you have to remember that the concept and Vectorworks is the doors and windows are separate. This means that you have to create a door and a window and pushed them together. If you use Windoor, then you can create both the door and the window with the same object. Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
thanks for that I wasn't looking properly. Just one more thing; your door has nice clear glass but my glazing is the same wood texture as the door. How do I change that? Quote Link to comment
