making a layer link light or different color

I'd love to lay a framing plan over my layer link of the floor plan but its too dark..I know how to shut off the classes but can I fade it? or color it lighter without changing it on the original?

You can set the Layer visiblity to Grey in the Window>Navigation palette or

setup your Layer Colors & opacities and use them via File>Document Settings>Document Preferences>Display

and yes, 12.5 is a delight

Window>Navigation palette does not offer me that..(that I see in my sleep deprived eyes) and Doc pref display turns everyone a color or b & w..

Can I just turn this layer link (while in this FRAMING layer) a color?

sure hate to reset everything every time I go elsewhere to do something, capeshe?

Thanks BCD I am an exhausted idiot ..of course i can gray out a layer...what was i looking for? Vanna White to point it out?! maybe I was... big big thanks...sorry to be stupid I knew this in another life!
