bcd
Is this correct? I can only Export to Cinema 4d if Renderworks is installed and I can only Send to Cinema 4d if I have both Renderworks and Cinema 4d installed. Quote Link to comment
Horst M.
Looks like it is as you wrote. attached Screenshot from VW2012 Help Quote Link to comment
bcd
Hmpfh - not what I hoped for. It seems logical that a non-renderworks client might want to invest in C4D for renderings but not both C4D and RW. Quote Link to comment
Horst M.
I agree with you, specially If somebody is not interested in doing Renderings himself, the Export to C4D should be possible. It looks like you you can export for External Renders as 3ds, which is a NEM-VW-C4D competitors File Format. Without owning Renderworks or 3ds-Max. A bit strange. Besides that, with RW2012 I had the first time since I use VW the growing Idea, that, once, I may not need (or want) an external Render Programm. Before RW2011 RW was bejond .... So I used C4d. C4D offers a very Complex Material Editor, Caustics, GI Portals, Animation of Objects, a walkthrough Tool that works, Texture mapping tools that are worth the Name But all this is also a whole a lot to learn and Its a very Powerfull tool, that wants to be handeled, and has a good potential to lead you away from your target. Lost! The Way, "they" have implemented Renderstyles makes me hope and whish, that "they" do this also in the Material Manger, the Mapping tool and so on. This could lead to a RW that doesn't constrain "us" to become Specialists in Render Programms. Even if its Fun :-) like Mograph. Regards Horst M. Edited October 18, 2011 by Horst M.
