My firm has a mixture of E series (standalone for mobile workers) and C series (network licenses for use on office workstations) licenses.
When I first took delivery of the installation media the distributor had only the E series available and, as I was under pressure to get a couple of my guys going on 2011, I installed the software on a couple of the office workstations using the E series media and standalone E series license numbers.
I am now trying to reset the workstations' serial to use the network licence.
Can anyone confirm whether I have to completely uninstall the software and re-install it using the B series media I now have or whether I can simply alter the "User Serial Number" value in the registry (win xp)?
Simply inputting the network serial number (under a separate user ID) just returns the following error:
"The serial number is invalid. Please carefully re-enter the number"
Also I understand that the E series number originally used will be locked out by this machine for 90 days - can anyone confirm whether that's from the last time the software was used or if it is in 90 day increments from installation.
