Failed to write to required registry entries

Hello to all:

I just bought a new laptop with windows 7, 64 bits. Although I know my VW 11-01 is rather outdated, before I upgrade to a much newer VW version I still want to try it on a new computer so I don't need to deal with 2 new things at the same time.

The VW11 was installed alright and when I opened an existing file it appeared to be fine except there was this error message:

"Failed to write to required registry entries

Error #5 - Accessed denied - you do not have permission to write to the required registry entries"

I am able to close it and continue but I don't know if there'll be any consequences later on. Anyone know what this is?

Apparently Win7/64 has instituted a couple registry security protocols that v11.1 is not aware of ; )
