Frank O'Kobrick
Is there anyway to create a solid from a DTM? I have tried using the create drape surface feature & then subtract solids from a giant cube, but I can't separate the upper solid from the lower. Having a solid would really help me to make more detailed modifications then I can do with just simple site modifiers. Quote Link to comment

Firstly convert your DTM into mesh (ctrl+alt+R)and then folow the instructions. Before stitching NURBS surfaces together you will probably need to add bottom NURBS surface (if you want closed volume). Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
what about drape surface, them section solids? Quote Link to comment
starling75
what about drape surface, them section solids? .. or drape surface + add NURBS surface bottom and run stitch and trim .. or just add NURBS surface bottom to your DTM and run solid addition command .. Quote Link to comment
starling75
.. or just run solid section command on your DTM, the result will be solid section, but it won't have closed volume ... Quote Link to comment
Frank O'Kobrick
Cool guys, thanks a lot. I'll give each of these a try. Thank you starling75 for putting that little demo together. Quote Link to comment
Frank O'Kobrick
I thought I'd post a follow up. This a screen shot of a Drape of a DTM that I used the Stitch & Trim feature on. I made a random extruded polygon that I then used Subtract Solids with to show that it is a solid. Quote Link to comment
