JLester
I am drafting a high school theatre space. The issue i am having is creating a front of house lighting position that is curved. I drew an arch to represent the lighting position but I am having trouble converting it to an LP. I think that I have to make it into a symbol but I am not entirely sure how to do that. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan K
JL, I am kinda guessing that you are drawing a balcony batten. Draw a polyline arch. Modify > Create Symbol Modify > Convert > Convert to Light Position This should work out fine in 2d plan. If you need to do a pipe in 3d you will need to play around with the extrude along path command to create the pipe. Hope this helps. jk Quote Link to comment
JLester
Yeah my goal is for this to be 3D. That has been the challenging part. Quote Link to comment
James Russell
So you'll to draw a NURBS curve representing the path of the FOH bar, then a circle the diameter of the bar and use the extrude along a path tool. Then you should be able to make a symbol from this and use it with the insert lighting position tool. Yeah? J Edited February 17, 2010 by James Russell Quote Link to comment
