Fit Walls to Object

How about a similar command as 'Fit Walls to Roof' but with more flexibility: 'Fit Walls to Object(s)' i.e. 3D poly, Mesh, Solids, Nurbs Curve, Stairs (which is the one i needed today) etc.

I believe you can use any geometry for the fit walls to roof command. It need not be a roof.

it does not have to be a roof, but it does work better if the 3D geometry is on another layer

...work better if....is it possible to in the same layer or are you just using a figure of speech?

OK, my ignorance... how about 'Fit Walls to Object' and making it possible to just select the Object(s) to fit too in any respective Layer/Class?! I.e. select object to change then select objects to fit to......
