mr. iagea
I ran the AEC > Dimension Exterior Walls command, and had selected the "Associate Dimensions" checkbox. But, the resulting dimensions did not update when I moved objects around. Makes the checkbox kinda less than useful. I looked in the manual, and the online help, which both indicated the following: ### Make dimensions associative Associates dimensions with the wall or wall component; dimensions move and update with the wall or wall component. ### Uhh, no...that didn't happen. So, what's the deal? Anyone run into this before? Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
I think that the option to place associate dimensions in the document preferences also needs to be on. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Where your dimensions and walls on different layers? If they are you need to have your Layer Options set to Show/Snap/Modify others. An like most snaps, the layers have to be in the same view and same scale. Also check that your Class Options are set to Show/Snap/Modify Quote Link to comment
mr. iagea
the dims are on the same layer. in many cases, upon closer inspection, i notice that even the dims are incorrect, placing the actual dimension in the incorrect location. layers and classes were set to show/snap/modify others. this tool needs work. VincentCuclair
I just tested on a wall with a couple of doors and a pillar and it works fine for me, have you tried it on a new file with only a few objects, perhaps its only file related? Quote Link to comment
