Robert Darden
What are the settings for configuring an L-shaped stair? Quote Link to comment
Chad McNeely
What have you already tried, and had trouble with? i.e., is this a design or code question, are you modelling them with solids, can you not find the Stair tool (or the settings button therein), can you not find them when typing "stair" into VW help? Lots of possible answers... Quote Link to comment
Robert Darden
I can get the stair from the resource browser and insert it into a drawing, but I can only do a straight or winder stair now. I need to layout an L-shaped stair for my design. Quote Link to comment
Chad McNeely
Dunno about the resource browser business, but assuming you're using it to fetch a pre-made stair PIO (instead of just clicking on the stair tool), or if this is the first time the tool is called, I think it brings up a RB-like window of choices? Anyway... Place the stair in your drawing. With it still selected, choose "Settings" in the OIP. A big ol window will open with lots of choices. After sifting through the first page, choose the Flights and Platforms tab, and then add and subtract flights and landings until you have what you need. Continue on with the rest of the tabs to see what else you can fiddle with... Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Robert, stairs can be accessed three ways: - Before placement via the Stair object's Preferences button (last mode button). - After placement via Browse in the Stair object's dialog box. - From the Resource Browser (navigate to the Stair folder within the Defaults folder). All three methods actually access the stairs from that one drawing in the Stair folder within the Defaults folder. If you create a style of stair you think you might reuse then you should create your own stair library drawing and locate it in the same folder. As you create others also add them to this file. This principle applies to many of the parametric objects. As you create objects the way you want them add them to personal default content files in the appropriate default folders. ie. build up libraries of your own content which you can then access quickly and easily either direct from the Tool or via the Resource Browser. Note: You can also create your own stair configurations using the Flights and Platforms options in the Stair Object dialog box. Quote Link to comment
