Retrieving "BOT Z" of a floor object for a worksheet

Recommended Posts

I hope I am wrong, but I don't think you can.

A Floor is not a Plug-In Object and does not have a record defining it. If you don't have a record, you can't get any of the info from the object other than the standard information. The standard information does not contain the Z location.

Maybe put a named locus at the BOT Z and reference that in the worksheet?

I have 3 Design Layers

Mod Ground

Mod First

Mod Second

I have set the Layer heights to:

7.100m

9.815m

12.530m

On each layer I have inserted one 3D Loci at 0.000 high since the height is goverend by the layer no the object.

I have created a worksheet with a database.

I have set the criteria to get the 3 x 3D loci on the particular layers and in the equation line I have entered <=BOTBOUND>.

The worksheet says.

Mod Ground = 9.350

Mod First = 9.350

Mod Second = 9.350

I also tried <=TOPBOUND> and get the same results.

What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately, No.

The worksheet does not provide a way to get the Z value of objects.

The best work around is to attach a custom record and then use a VectorScript to put the Z value of objects into that record. You can then display the record value in the worksheet.

You just have to remember to attach the custom record to the objects of interest and to run/re-run the script each time you make changes to the z values and need to update the worksheet (please insert sarcastic voice into the the above sentence.)
