Greg_at_ils
When I edit an extrude or a symbol VW gives me the object in an otherwise empty view. Is there any way to edit these items within the drawing so you don't loose the view of your other geometry and symbols? Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
I don't think you can make the symbol edit show objects outside the symbol. But you can create some 2d or 3d guide objects within the symbol. I draw what I call a "leg line" - snap to an easily recognizable point of the symbol and the other end to an object relevant to the symbol edit. Copy the leg and guide object(s), enter the symbol edit, and Paste them. After you paste, group the objects and drag the group of guide objects so that the leg touches the symbol in the right place. Make your edits, delete the guides, and exit the edit. For extrudes, the edit is only 2d, but you can temporarily insert 2d guide objects. -B Quote Link to comment
Gytis
I like to include 2D or 3D loci with symbols, in their own class to control visibility, and even if you forget to switch class off, they won't print or render. Quote Link to comment
