mortlocl
with the dual 2 core (or even quad core) processor PCs there seems to be a general thinking that a separate graphics card is no longer required...ie shared ram is used for graphics instead. I'd be interested to hear of anyones findings as to how well this compares. Would even with a dual 2 core processor would it be a marked improvement if a graphics card was added? Ray Libby
The processor has no bearing on the onboard graphics, just sharing ram as you mentioned. It would depend on what you do with VW on whether a video card would be better over onboard graphics. At around $75 for a decent graphics card it seems like a no brainer to me. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
Open Gl is all graphics card. And I think you'll find that it's best to do what a graphics card does best and leave the processor it's own room. Any rendering maxes out the processor, so why burden it with graphics. Quote Link to comment
