  1. Went to start up vectorworks 09 and it took 25 mins to load. (It worked fine last week.) Seemed to be installing a heap of files.. which then failed at the end. So rebooted the PC and tried again.. on startup it states couldn't load due to color palette failure ??
  2. with the dual 2 core (or even quad core) processor PCs there seems to be a general thinking that a separate graphics card is no longer required...ie shared ram is used for graphics instead. I'd be interested to hear of anyones findings as to how well this compares. Would even with a dual 2 core processor would it be a marked improvement if a graphics card was added?
  3. I found if I used the plant tool ie plants in a line it would hang. Then later I discovered that this would happen depending on which plant symbol I used. These ones would hang: symbol number 2, 15 or 25. These ones were ok: symbol number 5, 10 and 20. We wondered if this was a hardware prob...but on a Mac we got the same results. We also discovered that with the plants that hang, if we adjusted the spacing so there wasn't any (or little) overlap then it was ok. we also found that the volume of planting also was a factor in making it hang. If we used plant symbol two and drew a short line of plants of say 10 plants or so it was ok. But if we covered our A4 sheet with lines it would hang.
  4. I've had this problem too. A new install on new campus computers. I can open 2008 create a new file, use the plant placement tool and in about 8 clicks VWorks will hang. This is using the default plant symbol in a fresh install on re-imaged PCs with the latest SP2...so I wouldn't expect there to be any modified plant symbols. The local supplier thinks it because the latest graphics driver isn't installed....but I'm interested in learning any other fixes. It could well be the lack of a standalone graphics card (with dual processors) is the main reason.
