digitalcarbon
how can i get the door tool to look like the detail? Quote Link to comment
Chad McNeely
VW doesn't have an XXO option, so you must assemble it from three parts. Create a cased opening that is the overall size you want, and within that add (2) OX sliders that are each 2/3 the size of the cased opening. Set the OX sliders' jamb dimensions to zero, and omit any trim. Set them inside the cased opening, with the center panel overlapped. Select all three and create a symbol. See attached example. billtheia
That's great but then what do you do if you're using the "automatic" door schedules? Does WinDoor offer this type of door? If so, does IT integrate with the door schedule? Quote Link to comment
Chad McNeely
(Dunno about Windoor, but suspect it's perfect) Workarounds aren't perfect- here's what that door looks like in my schedule (I will eventually omit the "door operation" column anyway before finalizing the plan): Quote Link to comment
digitalcarbon
chad, thanks for the idea but NNA needs to complete the door tool if they really want this BIM thing to work. i need to do a workaround in my plan, elevation, & door schedule. this blows the whole draw it once idea out the window. thanks anyways Quote Link to comment
Chad McNeely
This is "just one" workaround that for me works in plan, elevation, and on the schedule. The door and window PIO's already are very complex to use, and I would hesitate to ask that they be all things to all people. For BIM purposes it seems more flexibility to the PIO's (a current example being the ability to use your own custom symbol geometry for the main substance of a PIO). I don't want to navigate through another 5 pages of Settings if I can avoid it. But adding OXX to the slider configuration list would be alright... Quote Link to comment
