alantaylorking Posted January 10, 2008 Share Posted January 10, 2008 Hi just wandering if someone could help me out im trying to create a template in vectorworks for our practice. i come from using autocad so i am finding this a bit difficult im trying to create a template so that when i open a new sheetlayer that it contains a title block already to be filled out. obviously coming from autocad im not sure if im looking in the right direction is this possible to do in vectorworks and if so ....how? all help is appreciated alan Quote Link to comment

A template file will only be used when you create a new document, not when you create a new layer in an existing document. To come close to what you want, create a template file with a "Template" design layer with your title block on it. Then instead of creating a new design layer, duplicate the template layer. Guest Posted January 10, 2008 Share Posted January 10, 2008 If you have 2008, you can import layer(s) and classes (The structure alone or with the objects) into another drawing. This is great for drawing synchronization, or updating a template file. It's also helpful if the project is spread across files to align all files to the same file structure and/or attributes.
