Phantom Polyline

Has anyone else come across the problem when creating a complex polyline with the compose tool that parts of the polyline stop being recognized? It has happened a few times in different drawings. I can select the polyline by clicking on it only at specific spots along the line. The rest of the line is still there, and when I select it and use the stretch tool, I can manipulate it, but I can only select it at certain parts of the line. Help!!

I'm running Mac OSX, and I just updated to VectorWorks 11.5.1. It has happened with both 11.5.1 and 11.0.1.

I remember same problem with imported ACAD contour lines. Had to trace them and delete the orig.

Also saw this intermittent selection problem in 12.5.x with one particular poly I created. It had about 700 points, was closed, had many Clip Surface holes in it. The clips caused vertex stacks, in one instance 8 or 9 deep. The extrusion of this polyline did not render properly except in OpenGL. I finally traced it and deleted orig. That fixed it.

I guess my big poly got corrupted or some points were too close together or graphics card could not resolve or??. I think Auto Save may be implicated. VW crashed my system many times during that drawing - restart required.

If this happens to all your polys it is a different problem. Try permission repairs and restart. That solves many issues. Plenty of RAM and HD space? Is Auto Save messing with your system?
