cpalms
Using VW 12.5 I want to reference a building plan into a site plan. The site plan is drawn with true north up. The building plan is rotated about 15 degrees relative to true north. I bring in the building plan and then rotate it to correctly place it in the site plan. When I reopen the site plan, the building plan is unrotated. I've checked the "ignore origin" box but that doesn't keep the building plan from moving. Hopefully I'm just missing some simple preference somewhere that'll keep the references from reverting to original locations when they're updated! Thanks, Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
When a workgroup reference is updated, it throw out everything on the reference layer in the Referencing file and brings in a new set of data. If you make any changes to the referenced layer, they will be gone the next time the WGR if updated. It sounds like you are set to automatically update on open. In 12.5 instead of rotating the WGR layer, make a Layer Link and rotate that instead. Pat Quote Link to comment
islandmon
if updates are not required ... simply unlock the link. Quote Link to comment
cpalms
Thanks for the replies. I'll try the layer linking and see how that goes. Quote Link to comment
cpalms
I could get it to work via layer linking - thanks again for the tips. Quote Link to comment
