Dieter @ DWorks
When I edit the color palette in version 12, I can't edit the first x kind of colors. I thought that this was intended to be this way because of system colors. Today I opened a drawing where the color palette only had 2 fixed colors, namely the first two: white and black. So my question is: how can you edit the first set of colors? I only just want to rearrenge them. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Which palette are you editing? Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
the color palette you can use for the attributes of objects. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Sorry - I was thinking VW 2008. You cannot edit the first 2 1/2 lines of the color palette. Are you suggesting you were able to edit 253 colors? Quote Link to comment
Petri
Actually, DWorks is obviously able to edit 254 colours... the color palette only had 2 fixed colors, namely the first two At least in Europe, 256-2=254. However, this is indeed interesting. With MacOS you have always (well, at least almost always - I can't recall MC 3 or 4 in this respect) been able to edit 254 colours. The operating-systematically challenged users have had a more limited choice even in this respect. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
On my Mac, there is a check box on the Edit Color Palette button labeled Lock Reserved Colors. With this unchecked you can edit 254 colors. with is checked the first 3 1/2 rows are locked. Pat VW12.5.2 Mac OSX.4.10 Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
So the file I got with the palette with only 2 fixed colors comes from a mac. I understand that those colors are reserved, but I like to rearrenge them. Can it be done on pc? Probably not? Quote Link to comment
Guest
None of the reserved colors can be moved/adjusted in VW 12. You can do this with VW 2008, in addition to creating more than one color palette, and each palette can have more than 255 colors. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
K, But why are there so many reserved colors? Does VW use these in some kind of way? Quote Link to comment
Petri
Ask Bill, your Lord and Master. They're reserved by him, not by VW. Quote Link to comment
Guest
It's an OS setting, as Petri has suggested. Quote Link to comment
