livewire
It would seem that when I use the fillet edge tool I can no longer decompose the solid and edit the components, is this correct? Comments appreciated... Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Yep, sort of To go backwards you have to Ungroup to remove the filletts (as many times as necessary-1 ungroup per fillett operation) then edit, then re-fillett all over again. :-? Quote Link to comment
livewire
Many thanks, that has saved me a considerable amount of time. I have been meaning to post another observation, the fact that it would only seem possible to make a single modification to a sub-component of a solid without returning back to the outer level and repeating the decompose action... DDDesign
... it would only seem possible to make a single modification to a sub-component of a solid without returning back to the outer level and repeating the decompose action... That hasn't been my experience. Is this a general problem? The inability to edit a fillet is a bit frustrating - but I can imagine why it's not possible. If you edit a solid subtraction or addition, you can predict what the result might be, but if you edit a fillet object - say add an extra edge - what is the result going to be? Will that edge be filleted or not? Quote Link to comment
