propstuff
I thought I'd try out Piranesi. The Piranesi site says : "VectorWorks users can export their data into DXF format. Use View > Standard Views > Top Plan, and then File > Export > Export DXF/DWG. Then use Vedute to render the model in EPix format. Alternatively VectorWorks' sister product RenderWorks can be used to create EPix files directly." ...............so I had a go at exporting a 2D site plan from top plan direct to EPix. The resulting Epx file was huge but when opened showed nothing. Exporting a 3D scene did produce a result in Piranesi. The VW help is fairly silent on this, and Search produced nothing. Has anyone got any tips on using RW to export a 2D sheet to Piranesi?? cheers, N. Quote Link to comment
Dave_Donley
Hi propstuff: Piranesi export is a 3D operation, it needs the depth info to do its fancy plane locking, etc. tricks. It is actually doing a rendering with depth to produce the EPix file. To get a truly 2D image into Piranesi, maybe you can import it as a PNG or other. You will not get the 2.5D features for such an image, though. HTH, Dave Donley dave@nemetschek.net Quote Link to comment
