joenewell
A general question. I can't find the equivalent of ACAD copy command (select object, pick a start point, pick an end point and a copy is created the distance and bearing that was defined by the first and second point. Make sense? I lost my beloved Offset Duplicate plugin which did just this. A one step copy command with no farting around making a duplicate and then moving it. It had a companion plugin that did the same thing as the move command in ACAD, That is you could move an object by picking a start and stop point. You didn't have to type in the coordinates. Is there anything similar left in VW 12? Does anyone have the old one that they could email me? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Try here. http://www.vectordepot.com/Plugins1.shtml Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
At Ray's link above, this does what you describe: "DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE" "A very clever PIO that allows you do duplicate an object once or 1000 times by selecting a reference point then the location of the new object with point and click simplicity. Contributor: Katerina Panagiotakis" Works in 12.5.1 Quote Link to comment
joenewell
Thanks, I was thinking it was a vw plugin but have since remembered that some one sent it to me. it was tidier then this one but this will do the trick. Cheers Oh and our retailer sent us the link for the new update 12.5.1 which apparently fixes the autosave crash bug. (build #65397) Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
joenewell - the plug in you are referring to was probably Vector Move from Vectorbits (20 Euros). It has options for move, distribute and duplicate. http://www.vectorbits.com/ Quote Link to comment
Petri
Well, here we (perhaps) go: Someone develops a very good add-on. Someone buys it and then "sends" it to all his/her friends, who then cry wulf when they no longer have it after an upgrade. Things like this SURELY encourage third party development. I realise that this is not exactly a huge threat to McMansion-architects in North Carolina, but in future, I shall distribute my add-ons ONLY in dongle-protected countries through local VW distributors. This will decrease the availability and increase the price (the distributors want a cut, of course), but so be it. (Memo to myself: send an email to VectorDepot to pull everything I have there.) EDIT: Done. Edited January 27, 2007 by Petri Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Petri, Good point, although some (like the Duplicate/Multiple), are free. Quote Link to comment
