Matt D
Using Vectorworks 12.5 on Intel Mac, trying to create a Section Viewport results in CRASH. Even Updating an existing section viewport created in v12 results in CRASH. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!!! Quote Link to comment
Gytis
Have you done routine maintenance/troubleshooting--repairing permissions, run Tech Tool? Quote Link to comment
Matt D
Thanks for the advice. Can you tell me where to find Tech Tool. I ran a search but nil came up. Quote Link to comment
Gytis
Sorry...to be more specific, Disk Utility is the OSX built-in utility with which you can repair permissions and hard-drives (the latter only after booting from an install disk) Micromat'sTech Tool Deluxe is, to my knowledge, the only other repair utility compatible with Intel Macs. It ships with AppleCare plans, or, I believe, can be purchased separately. Other great utilities, like DiskWarrior, are not yet recompiled. Actually, I take that back: although limited in scope, Cocktail is a great little app that runs on Intel Macs. HTH Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Matt D, a brief word from long experience ... do not over react to this problem. There's every likelihood that the crash is specific to VW app. 1) goto>Utilities > Console>VW Crash Log 2) Send the log to Techsupport Did you completely replace the VW Plug-ins Folder during the install ? You may have an outdated plug-in which is not compatible with IntelMac... Quote Link to comment
Matt D
Thanks for the advice Islandmon I was never asked to replace the Plug-ins folder. I assumned this has happened automatically. How do I check it? And if it's wrong, where do I get the correct folder from? Quote Link to comment
Guest
When you "crash" are you getting an error message or is the application simply disappearing? If you are getting a message, what message do you get? What OS version are you using? Quote Link to comment
Matt D
Dear Katie: The application just QUITS on me. No error message. I am using OS 10.4.8 It's brand new, just out of the box. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Does it happen in every file when you go to create a section viewport, or just some files, or just a specific section in a specific file? Quote Link to comment
Matt D
Well, after doing some tests it happens in a file that was created in V12 on a G4 powerbook. Quote Link to comment
Guest
If that's the only file it's happening in, please send the file and details to tech@nemetschek.net Quote Link to comment
