maintaining truss rotatability as a symbol

I create my trusses and then convert them into a symbol and then to a lighting "instrument" so that I can keep count of them in the drawing.

As a truss object, I have the "hanging angle" and "rotation" parameters to play with. These disappear when I convert it to a symbol.

Is there a way to rotate my truss, in 3D, while keeping the truss as a single symbol or do I have to create a different symbol for each angle?
