Adam3
We need to export the 2D co-ordinates from a simple land cross section to a text file to import into our slope stability software. The only idea we have for doing this is to draw a 2D locus on the points we want and to use a vector script to export these to a text file. Can anyone help with a basic script that will do this? Would the locus have to be highlighted when the script is run or does it just export all those in the drawing? Would they have to be in a separate layer? Thanks Quote Link to comment
MullinRJ
You can export the Loci positions to a text file using the File->Export->Export VectorScript... menu. If you first copy the Loci to a blank file (using Paste In Place) then export the VS file it will be very easy to find the Locus() data. With a little massaging in your favorite text editor you can have the data in any format you desire in a matter of minutes - OR - you can write you own VS and have your data formatted perfectly in a few hours or days. ;-) HTH, Raymond Quote Link to comment
islandmon
The worksheet is ideal for this purpose... providing numerous 2d functions ...X,Y,TopBound, BotBound, length, width, height. You can place Loci , attach records, then use WKsht to count, get pt# & description, & get the XY coordinates. Then export the Worksheet , only. Fast, efficient, effective... Quote Link to comment
