Inventor
I am trying to fillet a 3-D edge. I tried to do it with a basic shape to simplify the problem but was unsuccessful. I followed the directions correctly, I believe. Create an extruded rectangle of 1x2x2 inch --> convert to NURBS --> ungroup --> select fillet edge tool --> select 0.1" radius and faces option --> then I selected two adjacent faces and entered. The message read "edge filleting failed". I tried various options. Not sure what I doing wrong. I have Windows XP, VW 11.5 with Renderworks. Quote Link to comment
propstuff
I think you'll find it failed because you tried filleting NURBS Surfaces. That would require the Create Fillet Surface command. Fillet Edges works on Solids, not surfaces. That being said, If you search this board you'll find many complaints (including many from me) of the Fillet Edge tool being reliably unreliable, and frequently failing. }:-/ Quote Link to comment
