A. Hunter
When doing an add solids operation that involves the combination of polygon sweeps and rectangular extrudes or sweeps and solid subtractions the entire program spontaneously exits. Ive tried usual methods for addressing mac permissions issues but it hasn't helped The real kicker is sometimes this fault happens and sometimes it doesn't. I never know what shapes will kill it. though once a shape does kill it, it always kills it Machine Name: Power Mac G5 Machine Model: PowerMac7,3 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (3.1) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 2.7 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 2.5 GB Bus Speed: 1.35 GHz Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
The sweeps are a bit problematic with solids operations, in my experience. I have experienced similar crashes in the situations you describe. If you can create objects by another method, you will probably have better luck. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Agree with Pete ... NURBS Solids seem to be much more predictable. Extrude Along Path , Revolve with Rail and Lofting beats Sweeps everytime. Quote Link to comment
Guest
If you have a file with issues, please send it to me. I can forward it to the engineers and we can examine the cause of the problems and fix them. Without the files, we don't know what's broken. Thank you for your help! Quote Link to comment
