If you select a Wall and look in the Object Info palette you'll notice the lefthand edge of the dropdown menus are aligned quite far over to the right of the palette. If you then select a Symbol you'll notice the lefthand edge of the dropdown menus are further to the left. The result in the second instance is that you see far more of your layer and class names.
To me the effort to impose order (by keeping "Layer ?Z Offset" on one line and/or everything aligned vertically) is too much of a trade off in terms of how much it then truncates your class and layer names.
