It assumes that North is at the top of the page and that the sun comes from the north - which it does not in the northern hemisphere. Also you can not turn it off and it makes certain elevations black. Quote Link to comment

If the angle of the north orientation is set in the field and the latitude longditude and time zone are all set correctly the sun will be placed correctly. It is just a directional light and can be turned off like any other light. Quote Link to comment
