Objects in a symbol was created on 'none' class but some how get assigned to random class

Recommended Posts

Good day:

If the objects in symbol were created on the 'none' class and it is assigned to its appropriate class descriptor eg. Equipment main , but later on in the modelling process  the objects inside the symbol show as being on random class that they were not originally assigned to. What could have caused this and how can it be fixed without going through every symbol in the model to reassign them to appropriate classes.

Helpful to know:
The VWX file is a shared file - multiple persons work on it throughout the course of the day.

With thanks,

Did you ever get an answer to this? This is not something I have seen before.

There is a setting to assign objects inside groups to the same class as the group and it has an Always Do button. If that was set, then the objects inside the group would end up in the same class as the group.

But that does not seem to work with symbols. And it would not explain why you are getting Random classes.
