tfw
Hello, When I'm detailing cabinetry (VW2021 Arch w/ InteriorCAD plugin), I'd like to visually specify the material of each part using tiles or hatches (plywood sides, mdf fronts, etc.) I've set up a simple custom tile for plywood substrates: a series of parallel lines to indicate the ply layers. The cabinet as a whole has its texture defined "by class" in the OIP, and the tile is inserted via the organization palette to the appropriate class for plywood parts (interiorCAD classes all parts separately.) The parallel lines defined by the tile are locked in their direction/orientation, so if there are two plywood parts sitting perpendicular to each other, the plywood tile is correct in one part, but not the other. So, I create a second tile where the ply lines are rotated 90 degrees and apply it to the part sitting perpendicular. But that's a weak hack since the same part will rotate (horizontal or vertical) on the sheet depending on the vantage of the viewport. I've read tiles can be rotated with respect to wall objects and symbols, but interiorCAD does not define parts as symbols, only the cabinet as a whole (I think.) Where am I going wrong here? Is this within reach? Quote Link to comment
Blinkglitter
Unless you have found the answer already I would be interested to know this but you might be better off asking the question in the interiorcad discord I set up, someone there might know. I will send you an invite. Quote Link to comment
