Line styles

fred

Question

I would like to see an option where one can set up standard line styles similar to text styles in word processors. The style would have set information about thickness, color, dash pattern, et cetera. For example one could have a pattern for electrical lines, section cut lines, and so forth.

Thanks,

F_

FRED, Here's one way to do it: With no object selected, set your attributes for any particular line style (ie: set weight, dash style, color, etc.) then, go to ORGANIZE>CUSTOM TOOL/ATTRIBUTE and click all the attributes you want remembered, then when asked to name the script name it (for example) ELEC LINE 1. When you click okay you'll notice a "commands" pallette somewhere in your screen. It will have your newly written script in it. Simply double click the script name in the command pallette and VOILA! all your attrubutes will be there. You can do this over and over for as many different syles as you wish. Have fun! PLC

Fred, Here's another method: create a class for each type of line. In the class setup dialog double click each class and set up your preferred attributes. Click the apply at creation box. Now draw a line then go to the Object Info palette and assign the line to one of your new classes. It should thn take on the attributes of that class. PLC
